A: Hello Alex! I have heard about this button that you speak of. My great-great-grandfather told me a story of a Funkey miner. He was very old and just a little crusty. His name escapes me, but each morning he would ride his Funkey mule up to his Funkey mine and dig for Funkey gems. He would dig all day long until the sun would drop below the horizon. And then each evening he would pack up whatever he found and hop up on that mule….Juniper was its name….and ride back down to his crib.
One day he was digging inside his mine and came across this giant button. This was no ordinary button, no this was a magical button. In fact, using Juniper he was able to drag the button out to the middle of the land. He stared at it each day and wondered if he should press it. What did it do? Maybe it would do something very bad. Maybe something amazing and good would happen. The poor miner worried about this day in and day out and finally resolved to push the button the next morning. So the next morning he went out to that strange big button. He wiped the sweat from his head…..he nervously pressed it….CLICK!
The next morning he called everyone he knew to meet him at the mouth of his mine at sunset, where he was going to make an amazing announcement unlike anything else ever heard. He wanted to share the knowledge of what happened when he pressed the giant button. That day he went into his mine, like every other day, and proceeded to mine. That evening at sunset the group of people gathered around the entrance to the mine and waited for the miner to arrive. Suddenly there was a large cloud of smoke and dust that shot out from the mine. The Funkeys ran to get out of the way, as the mine collapsed. The miner was never heard from again, and the Funkeys never did find out what the miner knew about what the button did. But every now and then, if you listen closely, you can hear a faint laugh when the button is pressed. Some Funkeys say it is the miner laughing at the lost knowledge of the button. I say it is probably a clue as to what it does. As Mayor I have posted a reward in the amount of 500,000 coins to the first Funkey to solve the mystery.
